This 4506-1 (.45acp) was my duty gun for 20 years. It was preceded by a S&W Model 64 (.38spl +P+), and now my duty gun is a S&W M&P .40sw. I would still pick the 4506 as my favorite of the three. The only repairs were three trigger play springs and new sights. The trigger play spring only holds slack out of the trigger when cocked, it does not affect functioning. I wore out three of those springs due to regular shooting and dry fire! |
