Shooters
Description: This shows me with my first gun, an Ithaca 49 Saddlegun. This is a single shot Martini-style lever action. Mine has a walnut stock. I've read they later made them with "hardwood" stocks with pressed checkering but mine has no checkering. It is a .22 and will shoot .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle. Sights are typical open sights. Mine was a gift from an uncle. I shot this rifle so much as a kid and teenager that it needs new springs and new ejector, and the aluminum receiver needs to be re-anodized, which is expensive. The stock is in surprisingly good shape, as is the barrel. I shot probably nothing but plain waxed lead loads and didn't really know anything about cleaning as a kid, which says a lot about the value of using waxed lead .22s. Today it sits in my safe as a revered memory.
