I remember when we had these in the store I worked in here in Ohio in the early 90s. I have a memory of finding it somewhat confusing. Not so much to us but to explain it to a customer. I don't recall ever selling one, though we may have. It was really a bit of a complicated approach to a simple concept that might have been better served by two pistols (TDA and DAO), as most companies did. Today I'd thrill to own one of course.

An interesting fact about the BDM was that it was designed by an engineer (Peter Sodoma) who had escaped from Czechoslovakia some years before the fall of the Soviet Empire, and IIRC, had never designed a pistol before. I remember reading an article about him and the pistol in one of the gunzines when it was first introduced.
