I'm not especially a fan of glowing sights but haven't really given them a chance. Just the red plastic insert in the front sight of a 686 revolver seems to fluoresce too much for good shooting outdoors for me and it grayed out in the shade. Of course that latter problem wouldn't occur with the TruGlo sights. They are faired into the barrel contour fairly well, so I could consider them, I guess, but most other fiber optic sights I have seen look to be fragile and possible snag hazards on the draw.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: It's the best of all worlds in Glo-land, and the FO is pretty well protected. If you like glowing sights it's pretty neat. If you realize that the human eye wasn't meant to focus on glowing dots, you might not like them. But then, most people looking for defensive sights are not really focusing on their front sight anyway. Just my grumbly opinion. |
