Wow - I wrote that note in 2014! Better late than never, I guess! Thanks for the reply, John. My curiosity was piqued when I saw that picture because of a personal experience I had with one of the .22 versions.
Many years ago, my brother was tending bar where he and one of his customers met and fell in love. Because they met at that bar, they decided to hold the wedding there - while the bar was still open for normal business! One of his regular barfly customers was drinking at the bar and, drunk and surprised by the wedding itself, decided to give my brother an impromptu wedding gift - a fully loaded Erma .22 that was in his pocket! My brother called me over because he didn't have much gun experience then. We took the pistol into the bar's office where I cleared it and we locked it in the office safe. That was the first time I had handled one of the Erma copies and I was very curious about its blowback action. It obviously didn't really lock and the toggle was there for cosmetics only. Oh, a few days later the customer, now sober, very sheepishly asked for his pistol back - and got it. Stu |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yep, it's a blowback design, not a locked breech. I did a little search on the web and the things are selling for over $500, that's amazing! I guess I better get it out and clean it. |
