That does sound pretty easy, almost as easy as my annual Air Force qualification...
The best I can remember, we fired 60 rounds at a 3/4 sized silhouette and I absolutely cannot recall the distance or the shooting positions. I remember a guy in basic training that we all tried to coach and we finally got him through with a minimum score (whatever that was). He was from the hills of Tennessee or Kentucky and his last name was Winchester... |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: It is comforting to know that the healing process has begun. The Navy shooters are awarded five points for hits in the black, four points for hits in the next circle, just outside of the black, and believe it or not, three points for hits anywhere inside the rectangular box. You'd think that would make qualifying awfully easy wouldn't you? Anyway, different scoring for different needs. Benchrest shooting only requires a tight group. |
