These are fascinating rifles, I must admit. I can see why you are so taken with them. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Image below from HarveyWilson - Image Title: Take Down mannlicher Image Info: This is a take down Mannlicher-Schoenauer rifle (not carbine). Many like this were English conversions with a push pin up front and a small lever at the trigger guard. They also has a folding peep sight in the grip behind the action, and a pocket for an extra front sight in the bottom of the grip, as well as the usual trap door butt plate with 2 holes for cartridges and the top, larger hole for a cleaning rod. Top pic and note should be last.....guess I got carried away adding pix
This is a Lyman 36 sight. It's consistently given 3 shot rested groups averaging 1 1/2 inches at 100 yards with 160 gr. Hornady RN bullets. I'll try uploading some other Mannlicher-Schoenauer peep sights..some on the bolt itself and another in the grip behind the action. I'm interested in a take-down rifle, probably an English conversion, one in 7x57 and another in 9x56. Both have the grip peep, as well as an extra front sight in a pocket in the bottom of the grip.Image below from HarveyWilson - Image Title: Mannlicher stock peep sight Image below from HarveyWilson - Image Title: Mannlicher-Schoenauer bolt peep Image Info: Another version of a Mannlicher-Schoenauer bolt peep sight Image below from HarveyWilson - Image Title: Mannlicher Bolt Peep Image Info: One type of Mannlicher-Schoenauer peep sight Yayyyyy...this O.F.
