Linda Farmer, wife of JD Farmer (Hard Times Armory) carried a M-11 (380) Ingram in her car in the mid '80's. She let me fire it once, and it was impressive. JD also converted his Glock 17 into a G-18 when he attended Glock armorer's school. He gave a firing demo, and it, too was impressive....at least in how fast both could empty magazines.
The M-11 380 is about the size of a 1911. It's a cute gun in it's own right, and possibly very effective. I've seen it rigged up to fire thru a hard brief case. I see their use in CQ combat, mainly as "room brooms" at distances of 10 yards or so. I briefly entertained converting my then under order Sterling into a suppressed SMG, but it came in a month AFTER the ban went into effect. After discovering how well it shot, compared to an HK-94 and UZI carbine that friends had, I'm glad that I kept it original. As to the lady's "choice" of the Scorpion as a hand bag gun, methinks she'd be far better served with a 3913 Harvey/ Ga |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I honestly can't remember ever seeing the .380 Ingram. I just fired the full auto Scorpion this spring at Knob Creek and it was as small as I'd ever want in a full auto. In a semi-auto, I can't think of why I'd want something as large as either as either one. Fill me in on your thinking here? |
