I believe different versions of the Summer Special had swiveling connections, but couldn't say which. Also, I may be remembering the G. Gordon Davis version of this rig, which was really my first exposure to the original Bruce Nelson Summer Special design that Milt Sparks began making with Bruce's blessing years ago. But Gordon's version was very similar. It was what I used to carry my Star PD off-duty and later as an armed citizen in California for a number of years. It was almost identical to the original Summer Special--at that time there were not multiple versions available--and may have had swiveling connections. In function they would have been much like the Bianchi #3 as you mentioned, though two straps instead of one large one as on the Pistol Pocket. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I recall the SS2 as a bit less comfortable than the Falcon but can't say if a swiveling connection would improve that particular design or not. I think the big difference in comfort was getting the attachment point off the body of the gun and to the rear. Do I recall that my picture was posted in response to a similar discussion here - were later versions built to swivel or am I thinking of the Bianchi Pistol Pocket I used for my 1911? (Or both?) Stu |
