I'm trying to remember, but didn't one of our members buy a Smith .41 Magnum a couple of years ago? I wonder how he liked it.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: In lead 210gr LSWC form at 1000fps, the .41 Magnum was indeed a tweener. In JHP at 1300-1400fps in was far closer to the .44 Magnum to really call it a tweener, eh? I think that's what killed it off. That and the "magnum" name hung on it. The originators, Jordan, Keith--didn't want it to be called a magnum, but in 1964, that word was sales dynamite, eh? Roy Weatherby staked his personal fortune on just that truth. As to the .40S&W, its a tweener in many ways, but power isn't one of them. |
