I have some huge walnut trees that have thrown down nuts over the years and I have new trees that have grown from nuts, some are about 20 feet tall now. No plans to cut down the parents, which are 3-4 stories tall and give me the illusion I don't have any neighbors three seasons a year.
Sounds like you have a pretty good stash of wood at this point though. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: all ways looking .I used to get my wood fro m a fellow in walla walla that used to cut yard trees. he let I lay for 5 yrs. in the stump and then saw it up and let it lay for 5 yrs before he opened a stack. he had the best curly maple I ever saw. he would spot curl and drop the blade 3 inch and fletch it off and lay it aside I would go down twice a year. after we got through with the straight stuff he would finally lay out the stack. that is when the hard bargaining really began. alas he died of a heart attack while in the top of a tree. that ended that. by this time I had a pretty good stack for the future. his walnut was yard grown so it was a bit big grained |
