Ah, you prefer Bob--I'll make a note. ![]() Dad always wanted a stainless M1911A1, so about a year or less before he died I bought and presented him with a Springfield Armory M1911A1 Milspec Model. These are exactly the same as a GI 1911, except in stainless, and Dad was thrilled. He promptly got out his old Ithaca and handed it to me, now that he had his stainless version. I hadn't expected to inherit before his passing but I believe we both enjoyed seeing a thrill in the other while we were both around to see it. Now of course I've got Dad's stainless model as well. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Mark! Thank you for the Welcome note & the pic of your Ithaca, It looks to be in much nicer cond. than the one I have, although computer images can be misleading on occasion. Mine has seen a good portion of it's life in & out of it's holster protecting our way of life & was returned here with it's owner, much the same as was your fathers i'm sure. It lives on in my safe waiting for my son & Granson to provide a home for it when I'm gone. Mark, I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing I think I would have enjoyed speaking with him. I am a Viet Nam vet myself, they may have been two different wars but soldiers are soldiers. Take Care & Thanks Again Sin: Bob Preiss |
