They were only available to law enforcement and the military because of that thumb-operated selector switch. Point it straight forward as in the picture and the gun operates as a single shot. Point it upward and it can fire two three-shot bursts. Point it downward and it runs full auto... Since it's a Glock it of course has no "safe" position...
