For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I wonder if this was an overly-ambitious intro to handguns for H&K? Wasn't it the first pistol they ever made? I don't think it was overly ambitious. It was H&K's modification of the Mauser HSc, IIRC, and it was their first pistol design. It was reasonably successful as a standalone .380. The 4 calibers (HK4) was kinda gimmicky IMO, but it was appealing to the collector in me. There was a lot of innovation in the pistol, but "one size fits all" led to some quirkiness in real shooting. I do give H&K credit for producing something that caught attention with American shooters. They haven't done so poorly since, eh? Harvey |
