Good eye! That never occurred to me, but with the tempering required, it isn't a surprise. Now I wonder about the heat treating of other parts.....

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: When this photo came up on the home page today, I realized something I hadn't seen back in 2014 when it was first posted: Do you realize that there are no springs shown? Apparently (and logically) spring steel can't be currently produced by the 3D process!
