In my earliest days I kept my guns in their original boxes so I wore out the box for my Colt MkIV Series 70, and I'm not sure the box for my Ruger Security-six is original--I think it got replaced with an identical one without the serial number for reasons I don't recall. I envy you having the boxes with original Styrofoam. The one I recall for sure like that was for the Colt and they lasted about a week in any kind of use.
So you haven't worn the finish off that P32 yet? How's the P239 holding up? Where are the cases for those two? Well I suppose the Kel-Tec didn't come with one, I don't recall.... |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: For a while, I stacked the empty cases, including their non-gun contents, on a shelf next to my safe with the guns themselves safely locked away. When we moved here, I packed them all back into their original boxes for the move and never unpacked them. I've got enough room in my safe to keep them there in the cases - just barely. I made sure they are well wiped down with RIG and keep the rust-inhibiting paper wrap on them, too, when so equipped. I, too, keep the "commie state" fired casings in the original box for some dumb reason. It must be the pack-rat in me. I still have the cardboard and Styrofoam boxes that some of my guns came in, too. If the guns ever become collectible, they will add to the value. Anyone collecting KelTec P32s yet? Stu |
