I think what you are referring to is the S&W "Air Force Lightweight" revolver, sometimes called the M13. This was basically an all aluminum M10. There also was a 5 shot "Baby Aircrewman" similar to the Chief Specials, but with an aluminum cylinder.
Most of these 2 models were destroyed by the military, with very few still out in the public. The real ones are expensive, but there are also a lot of fakes. Colt produced a similar revolver called the "Aircrewman", and they too were mostly destroyed by the military. Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thanks for the answer. Here's another one for you. Way back in the day there was a 6 shot snubby I think made by S&W that was all aluminum and came loaded with 6 38's and one reload, after that it was a paperweight. Do you recall who did make it and what was the name / model number? I also have a vague memory of some of them getting out to the public which caused a major panic? |
