Interesting!  I really wasn't meaning to say that quote wasn't made by a Texas Ranger--I just never had any verification for or against it, and I have in fact heard it attributed to a variety of folks.   You know I just call 'em like I see 'em.  The Rangers were early adopters of the 1911 pistol, so this makes lots of sense.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If old age hasn't destroyed my memory completely I think I remember seeing the quote in the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame in Waco.  Quite a museum and well worth the time if you are ever in the area
