I understood the intent and I'm not annoyed with you. I just have a loathing for the AARP and thus can't get up the decency to smile or chuckle at well-intentioned kidding involving the AARP. I'm sorry for having this hang-up. It does honestly come from being a strong proponent of the 2nd amendment, and not liking the biggest, progessive, anti-gun lobbyist in Washington that is fighting to eliminate our rights.
Stu couldn't see any connection, apparently, but hopefully you can see it it, and will refrain from that particular joke, however well-intended? I'd really appreciate it. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The .45 AARP association is just a cute link to the age of the cartridge that fits close to the original cartridge designation of ACP. That's all I ever meant to it. Ironically, the most popular handgun cartridge, 9X19, is either 3 or 5 years older. I THINK it was adopted in 1902, but I have found references to 1900? Either way, the 9X19 was "Early Bird" Special qualified sooner than the .45 ACP. Of course, the 9MM met the .38 SPL there in line before him. |
