I'm thinking the BEST chance of these coming back would be if a company like Pietta in Italy starts producing them then they get imported here and "finished" up by "skilled craftsman" here at the Colt plant. 

They won't be anywhere near the guns of old, but that's the likeliest scenario I can think of. It's done for the 1873 Single Action Army... This would just be on a higher scale.
