For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Mark, This is a picture of a Browning BL22 Lever Action that was dropped and the stock broke off. The hole is where the thru-bolt attaches to the rear of the action. Apparently it is cast where the bolt fastens. Happens more than it should to the BL22. The story from the owner said he picked up the gun and it fell to the floor with the tip of the buttstock striking the floor. Not sure what this has to do with a S&W Model 39. Frank |
