No work ever needed, best guess, less than 500 rounds lifetime if that many.  I have taken it deer hunting as well as coyote but NEVER IN THE RAIN!  Now that I'm coming on 79 next month I don't take it out, guess it's what you would call a "safe queen"?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I meant to ask if you had any work done on your Colt, or was it a typically excellent example right out of the box?  About how many rounds do you think it's had through it? GUYS, who all here owns a Python--or has owned one in the past?
