For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I currently have 2 "big brothers" to your PPK. One is a Walther PP in .32acp, and the other is a Manurhin PP in .380 (licensed by Walther). Both are reliable, accurate and fun to shoot, but they are strictly range guns for me. I've had a couple of PPKs in the past, in both .32 and .380, and enjoyed shooting them. The last one I had was a stainless .380, built under license by Interarms in the USA down in Alabama. Shortly after that manufacturer lost the contract to build them, Smith & Wesson began producing the PPKs under an agreement with Walther. IIRC, S&W modified the frame by extending the tang to prevent hammer bite. I'm not sure of this, but I think S&W produced the frames and imported the slides from Walther. Harvey |
