Some people do get caught up in auctions and get what we call stupid!

OTOH, usually on an auction there are plenty of photos and descriptions of the actual item, whereas on Sarco (or other 'Net sellers) there is little information and a stock photo rather than the actual item. That being the case, I usually look at the reviews to at least get some semblance of what I should get (I know, that 's a crap shoot, too, but any and all info helps IMO).
