Don't tell me the Marines didn't have coniferous forested training areas.
Could be. All of my infantry training was at Camp Pendleton, which had various areas and environments, including a lot of hills (basically small mountains). At that time, infantry training was a revisiting of the Korean War, with a lot of night time exercises, and an emphasis on stealth ("bear walking" was a favorite of the instructors). The conifer forests I recall were at Pickel Meadows in the Sierra Nevada where we did cold weather and mountain warfare training. Brrrr! Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Ha ha ha. Looks like the terrain at Lackland AFB or Fort Sam Houston, two place I trained in the 70s. Don't tell me the Marines didn't have coniferous forested training areas. |
