You're exactly right about the classic drilling being two shotgun barrels and one rifle barrel, and that's probably where the Chiappa derives from, but it has three shotgun barrels only, and so technically it isn't a drilling. There are also other drillings. there is one with a single shotgun barrel, a small rifle barrel and a large rifle barrel. Then there is the one with two rifle barrels and a single shotgun barrel. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I thought it had a name like "Drilling" which is the German name for two shotgun barrels over a rifle barrel? The Germans have produced several guns with different gauge barrels as well IIRC? |
