It was a nice gun and is definitely worth more than I sold it for back in Montana. It seemed pretty accurate and was in great condition but it was on its way to becoming a safe queen so I let it go.
They were designed for shooting bullseye and other types of slow-fire competition. S&W removed the double action feature and shortened the hammer fall from full cock to shorten the lock time (the time it takes the hammer to fall after you pull the trigger). When you cocked the hammer it only went back slightly more than half the travel of a standard double/single action model 14. It had a good but not great trigger pull and came with a target hammer and target trigger. I see where an unfired example with only a faint line around the cylinder sold on Guns International for $2150. |
