That used to be true, but that has long since ceased to be the case.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Didn't know that.  Had a CZ 32ACP with holster that was police issue, nice pistol, my daughter in law has it now.  I was once told that in Europe a police sidearm was more a "badge of authority" than anything else because Europeans as a rule didn't possess pistols?
