For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Back in the day in Philly the "Paddy Wagons" had a stretcher and a heavy wool blanket along with some basic first aid supplies. They removed the stretchers and blankets around 1965, too many cops napping in the back of the wagons! "Ambulance Cruisers" also did police work, so there were police medics long before firemen took on that role.  |
