Wonder why USAF didn't go with Md 19's so they could use 357 rounds, much more effective than the 38 Special? Image below from Mark Freburg - Image Title: SAC Smith & Wesson Image Info: Pictured is a Smith & Wesson Model 15 with "stag" stocks like the revolvers used by the SAC Elite Guard at Offut AFB's underground SAC HQ in the 60s-70s. To the best of my knowledge the SAC Elite Guard was the only outfit to use the stag handles. The only other Air Force Elite Guard in existence was the NORAD Elite Guard, formed while I was part of that unit, and our Model 15 revolvers wore Pachmayr Presentation Grips, far more practical.
