I always thought Hi Powers of that vintage held 12 in the magazine? Mine does, both factory mags and after market mags.
The Browning Hi-Power was designed with a 13-rd magazine, which has been standard for a long time. The one shown in Mike's photo is the 10-rd version, provided for those who live in not-so-free states with a limit on magazine capacity. If you look at that magazine, you will see that the lower part is blocked to only hold 10 rounds. Mike lived in Canada, where they did have capacity limits on hand guns. A number of 15-rd magazines (flush fitting) are now available, especially from MecGar. Harvey |
