Braggin' Groups
Description: The image shows how I prepare for shooting a pin match:
I start by shooting "slow fire" for precision at 75 feet (10 shots, top right target).
I move the target carrier to 50 feet, and now a tight group seems easy (5 shots, bottom right target).
Now I use a bowling pin target at 25 feet, and it seems close and big! I shoot the body of the pin at a cadence I would use in a pin match - less than one second per shot. Lastly, I shoot the head of the pin slower - about one to one and a half seconds to break the shot. I shoot these head shots in a single fashion, rather than the cadence style of the body shots (left "bowling pin" target, five shots to the body, twenty to the head).
I am then ready for a pin match!
(The gun is a Glock 24 with Dawson front and Bomar rear sight. Ammo used was Blazer 180gr FMJ .40SW.)
