Description: I lost my hunting buddy yesterday. He'd lived 15 1/2 active years and we'd been through a lot together. Looking back I could describe him as ... um... strong willed, intelligent, had a great nose, and he loved his people. He will be missed.

A home page picture today, Dale. After almost ten years I know the hurt is gone but the memories remain. Having lost canine companions myself, I have to ask: did you ever get another dog? Another Shorthair? After my Lab and my Weimaraner were gone within months of each other, I thought about it but was no longer hunting, and we had a little mixed-breed house rat left - that and a cat my daughter "gifted" us. Even today, old, crippled up and living in an apartment, we talk about it... Stu |
