For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Dale: Were there any NAPs still around when you were in the Navy? I was stationed with one, a Marine Sergeant, in North Carolina in 1957-58. He was a mess, a drunk that had been busted numerous times, but he still got his flight time in. I saw him flying the left seat with a Marine Lt. Colonel in the right seat with a VIP (who had requested him as pilot) on board an R4D. I suspect her was one of the last Marine NAPs, but IIRC, there were others who flew into the '70s. Harvey |
