I agree. I wouldn’t say my journey through the defensive pistol candy store is over either but I’ve been camped out in the Glock box of chocolates for sometime and see no reason to leave. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Got that absolutely right. I've thoroughly enjoyed the journey, and it's not over for me. I continue to mess around with different stuff. Sometimes I revisit the older stuff and am reminded how much I liked it. Case in point here with the S&Ws. Other guns I''ve visited and let go--the full-size DAOs were a rocky detour--good for nothing much other than pocket pistols, where they are almost necessary. I got comfortable with TDAs, but the SIGs I thought I liked the most ended up being a pistol I didn't stay with, and I no longer even own a SIG. The S&Ws are sleeker, smoother, slicker, and, frequently, have slightly better trigger pulls--though that can be a toss-up and often it comes down to personal preference. I thought the frame-mounted decocker was the hot ticket, but the SIG decocker is herky jerky while the Smith's, even though slide-mounted, is smooth as can be, and whether one wants to carry on- or off-safe, the move is convenient and can be learned and mastered easily. S&W TDA's have the best slide-mounted lever of any TDA of which I'm aware. It is more ergonomic than Beretta's well-known M92 for sure! |
