I have a nice 4566 out of nostalgia for the 3rd Gen S&W's carried by CPD in the early 1990s including nostalgia for this EXACT gun which I admired during ridealongs in 628, a 1990 or so (pre-jellybean) Chevy Caprice. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This 4506-1 (.45acp) was my duty gun for 20 years. It was preceded by a S&W Model 64 (.38spl +P+), and now my duty gun is a S&W M&P .40sw. I would still pick the 4506 as my favorite of the three. The only repairs were three trigger play springs and new sights. The trigger play spring only holds slack out of the trigger when cocked, it does not affect functioning. I wore out three of those springs due to regular shooting and dry fire!
