I do prefer my well worn Hogues on the old 4506-1, but have the Delrin one piece grip on the newer gun. I much prefer the factory grip with the straight backstrap over the "recurve" version due to my smaller hands.*
*I still say I do not have "small" hands. I wear size "large" gloves -- no mediums will fit. But most things are made in China now, so I probably am a "medium sized" person. In any case, I have "artist" hands according to many women |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That really is a big beautiful pistol. In my opinion, Smith & Wesson got it right when they built the 4506-1. I own mine thanks to your direct influence! ![]() Question for you. Do you prefer the Hogues to the original nylon (Delrin?) stocks that came on the gun? Were Hogues dept. issue for you folks? I have never tried Hogues on mine, and always though they might make the pistol a bit too large for my hands. |
