My son's VZ-24 also had the crest ground down. At some point I believe it was rebuilt, but it is flawless.
Thanks for that info on the clips. I would not be inclined to shoot that old Nazi 8x56R. Do you? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I would try Numrich Gunparts for the clips. After you have a couple, a good way to get more is buy old German surplus 8x56r as it comes loaded in the clips. Mine is 8x56r. It is one of my least favorite rifles and is in my collection mainly as a conversation piece. The bolt requires a real good pull to open, requiring me to take the rifle out of firing position to load another round. TheBerthier has that massive three round magazine but is otherwise okay. My VZ-24 has no crest on the receiver, just the year "1937". I assume it was taken over by the Germans but their are no Wehrmacht acceptance marks. Dave |
