I paid about $900 for my P88 in 1992 from a gun store in Cali, along with 2 magazines. Earl's was always the "high price" source for Walthers, and the only time I used them was for a repair of a PP safety.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: $1695 YIKES  I paid less then half of that for mine (in '88?) and I bought an extra mag. I could use a new set of plastic grips, but I've repairer and reinforced mine, and new grips are on the far back warming plate (not burner )
Earl even likes that price for the FP...which has a very prone to failure electronic trigger. Mine worked for the 6 months that I had it, but they asked to have it sent back and refunded all my $$$.
