Picked up my new pistol today. It's an EAA Witness Elite Match in .38 Super. I took a few photos immediately and I'll post them. Until I shoot it, the photo captions say about everything. They are a bit repetitive because of course they have to stand alone in the photo galleries as people look at individual photos. I can only add that I bought four extra magazines for a total of five. I've also found a source for alternative grip panels because I don't care for the looks of these much. EAA offers checkered walnut but at $80 I think they are a bit pricey. Here are my pix:

Image Info: Note the wide ledge safety. Easier to use than the standard safety on Witness and most other CZ75 clones. Excellent for a single-action pistol carried cocked and locked. Also note wedge style rear sight that is also adjustable--made by LPA. ![]() Image below from Mark Freburg - Image Title: Witness Logo
Image Info: Current EAA Witness pistols have nicer engraving than older models. Note the cursive "Match" on the blue slide. ![]() Image below from Mark Freburg - Image Title: Witness Sight

Image Info: This is the Witness Elite Match mag release, obviously made for competition use. It's too wide. Before I even picked up my pistol I ordered and received a standard mag release from EAA. It's shorter and will work better for concealed carry. ![]() Image below from Mark Freburg - Image Title: Witness sights
Image Info: Front and rear sights on my new Witness Elite Match are solid black. This may not be your choice, but it's my preference so I'm very pleased. I've been put off too many handguns lately because of various three dot set-ups, fiber optics, and other sights that simply don't work for me, so it is refreshing to find solid black sights on a pistol that offers everything else I need and nothing I really don't. ![]() ETA: I suppose I should say one more thing. Yes, the Witness has a hollowed out speed hammer, rails, and forward slide serrations, but I will tolerate a lot of things on a modern pistol that would bother me on a 1911. It is obviously all about the pistol. I have lots and lots of pistols with rails and several with forward serrations already--just no 1911s. In case anyone wondered.
Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention about the Witness--the trigger is adjustable for both pre-travel and over-travel, and breaks wonderfully sharp and clean. Outstanding!
