It wasn't much different in '78 at Lackland. We had classroom covering the basics--I believe we had rifles at our tables, then we went out to the range and shot for qualification. I suspect we were done before lunch. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That was Army doctrine, not Air Force. When I went out, we were given very little familiarization as to most of the basics. It was '57at Lackland AFB, and I don't remember that we shot the three positions. Rifles were drawn at the range, and we probably were told where the safety was, and to keep the loaded mag out of it until ready to fire. HGW |
