(Never a problem bringing back older threads!  ) I thought it might be but it looked so much like a hole in the photo I mistakenly assumed it was. I have an original M1909 Mauser. I just looked it over. It has the lever in the trigger guard to release the floorplate. Did you change the lever to a button?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Mark, I know this is an older thread now but I missed your question about the hole in the Trigger Guard. That is not a hole but the button you pressed to release the custom straddle floor plate. If you are familiar with the 1909 Argentine Mauser, it had a floor plate release similar to this one.
