One great thing about not being interested in every single thing that chambers ammunition, a disease both TJ and have succumbed to at points in our lives , is that you can be in position to acquire just the truly special items--like that Red Nine. I'd still love to have one, though your reason for not shooting it resonates with me too. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I had a very nice (98-99%) red nine broom handle in, of course, 9mm Luger along with a wooden stock/holster that was serial numbered to it. I detail stripped it once and all the serial numbered parts (almost everything in the gun) matched. The grip felt exactly like a broom handle when shooting it offhand and installing and using the stock made it feel a lot better and shoot a lot more accurately for me. Unlike the 1911 I had to look at the gun to make sure it was oriented properly. I can feel whether or not I'm gripping a 1911 in a manner that points it at my target. The gun was so nice I was afraid to shoot it for fear of having to replace one of the serial numbered parts with a non-original piece. I finally sold it. |
