I have a P220 and it's my only SIG Sauer. It too is in .45 ACP and it's fun to shoot.
This truly is a classic design that has held up rather well. It also gives a nice TDA alternative (at least mine is TDA) to the 1911 if that is what one wants. They also have a Single Action Variant if I recall correctly. I have never fired one of these, but it is a nice system from what I hear. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This was truly a classic pistol, made in Germany. One of the last, I think, made in 1999. I really believed in the SIG system when I carried it, even though I can't fathom it now--for me personally--everyone must choose for themselves. All I want to know is that they've made their decision based on experience, not two or three You Tube videos and a blabby gun clerk's opinion. ;-) I don't regret selling this one. I got a Smith & Wesson Third Generation DA for it. It's cool. Image below from Mark Freburg - Image Title: photos Image Info: SIG P220 .45 with smooth Pau Ferro wood grips from Hogue. |
