Here is another little project I made years ago. I think it's better than that holster you showed. When I got a bull-barreled Mk.II pistol, I gave Eric my old Safariland holster for his standard barrel Mk.II, and decided to make him a field pouch for a spare magazine. Here is that pouch. The only oddity is that everything I made from that specific hide of leather took stain irregularly, you'll note the dark spots among the more even lighter area. didn't bother us much but of course a commercial leather maker would never accept that discoloration.
