Nicely done, Mark, but I still think the holster - being a more complex project - showed off more of your skill.
As to the discoloration, normal use and exposure to oils and sweat would have done that anyway. It looks good (and black thread doesn't show dirt like white thread does! ). Stu |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Here is another little project I made years ago. I think it's better than that holster you showed. When I got a bull-barreled Mk.II pistol, I gave Eric my old Safariland holster for his standard barrel Mk.II, and decided to make him a field pouch for a spare magazine. Here is that pouch. The only oddity is that everything I made from that specific hide of leather took stain irregularly, you'll note the dark spots among the more even lighter area. didn't bother us much but of course a commercial leather maker would never accept that discoloration.
