For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: ...and I am thinking that the nomenclature of: "Velo Dog" became the general name of the small caliber, portable firearms. That might be an interesting discussion, as the same might be said for "Bulldog," which was originally a specific model of small, big bore revolver, but with became another generic term to describe all revolvers of a similar type. And the time frame over-lapped, say 1875 to the early 1900s, mostly in Europe. |
