We've all got "special" reasons. I own mine because it's a 9mm and uses moon clips, which means it both ejects and and reloads faster than the clumsy .38 Special, and is more powerful to boot. And I'll continue to toot my own horn by saying that I have been using the 9mm versions for 20 years--this is my third 9mm snub.
All that said, they still pale in comparison to a nice ergonomic pistol that feeds from a magazine. Or should I say ? (I mean in the world of self-defense, how far do we get with "cute?") |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: WHY do we continue to cling to them? Because they are cute! Honestly, I can't think of another answer. When I feel the need to carry a snubby, I use my Taurus which has a seven shot cylinder rather than the Smith's five shots. The Model 60 is iconic and I still enjoy owning it but I admit that it remains a safe queen. Stu |
