Okay, wasn't sure what you meant. Actually, my belief is that the snub .38 is easy to conceal, which is why they are still popular. But they are difficult to shoot accurately at anything beyond very close ranges, and having studied a good deal of actual gunfight video, I am convinced that anyone who only prepares for an up close gunfight is not truly prepared to survive.
That being the case, all snub revolvers are difficult to shoot accurately. The .357s are difficult to shoot period, and should be avoided. The .38s, even with +P ammo, are not death rays by any stretch of the imagination, and the vast majority of wounds they cause are survivable, even to the extent of the person shot being able to continue the fight and wound or kill after being shot. This being the case, the .38 in a snubnose is not the best choice for self-defense. The idea that it is "very effective" is an outdated belief. Yes, even with +P ammo. +P doesn't do that much, especially for .38 Special. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Because they still work as a defensive weapon, easy to conceal, quick into action and, when loaded with +P defensive ammo, very effective. |
