I've been looking for answers as to who was responsible for those US POW letters, and still really don't know. A number of samples I've seen were air mail versions produced by the Germans marked "Kriegsgefangenpost" (war prisoner mail is the literal translation), and these too were "Notelopes".
From other sources I saw that the Red Cross received the mail in Geneva from the POW camps, then forwarded it to the final destination. So maybe my memory is playing tricks on me by thinking that my cousin's letters came through the Red Cross? Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Argh! That Red Cross reference slid past me! I was thinking of V-mail but the POW letters could indeed have been sent by the same process, maybe collected by the Red Cross and then turned over to the US military for microfilming and sending?
